°Ç¸ç³Ô¹Ï Grads Serve in Many Forms of Ministry

Recently, Liz Wiggins was a 2010 graduate of °Ç¸ç³Ô¹Ï's Christian Counseling program. Following graduation from °Ç¸ç³Ô¹Ï, she was accepted into a Master's program at Adams State University in Alamosa, CO. Her life since college is an indicator of the quality of education and preparation that °Ç¸ç³Ô¹Ï grads receive. Recently, Liz sent an update of her latest activities. With her permission we are sharing some of her report.

"Life in my world is exciting! My career as a school counselor continues to bring me so much joy. I am in my second full-time year at Mountain Vista Community School (a K-8 school). My work is so exciting I find myself looking forward to coming to work every day. My principal and assistant principal really respect my work as a counselor. I love interacting with students, many of whom come from very rough situations: poverty, incarcerated parents, broken homes, immigrant families, etc. I truly feel I make a difference every day."

"Additionally, I have been asked to lead staff development on communication skills, conflict resolutions, and team building. It is an amazing mix of student counseling and staff counseling. I am also serving as a mentor for the Colorado School Counselors Association for 2 new counselors in the state. On the other side of things, I will finish my hours for my LPC license this summer."

"Somehow, I decided I am not quite done learning and growing academically. I found out yesterday that I was accepted into Adams State University's doctorate program. I start this summer on a 4 year journey that will end with my PhD in Counselor Education and Supervision."
