Planned Giving Pays

Pictured is the Annual Torch Ceremony during Commencement weekend at °Ç¸ç³Ô¹Ï. This 1975 photo shows the torch being passed to the first graduate by Dr. Arnold Airhart, Academic Dean. In this ceremony, as each graduate accepts the torch, commitments to a lifetime of service are made.

Planned Giving pays eternal dividends! Recently, °Ç¸ç³Ô¹Ï received two endowed gifts that will assist °Ç¸ç³Ô¹Ï students as they prepare for ministry. These two gifts will be included with the 51 funds that are available to assist God’s Called as they prepare for ministry through °Ç¸ç³Ô¹Ï. The $3.2 million in invested funds annually disburses an approximate $165,000 in tuition assistance to °Ç¸ç³Ô¹Ï students. These endowed funds are managed to provide scholarship assistance from the earnings of the original gifts, thereby providing perpetual help to God’s Called.

  • Dr. Nicholas and Thelma Hull Endowed Scholarship is established to honor Dr. Nicholas and Thelma Hull. Dr. Hull was one of the founding board members of °Ç¸ç³Ô¹Ï. This scholarship will assist Ministerial Students.
  • Santa Ana First Church of the Nazarene Scholarship is an endowment initiated by Reverend Leon Hendrix to be used for tuition assistance for ministerial students at °Ç¸ç³Ô¹Ï.

A complete listing of the scholarship funds available for students enrolled at °Ç¸ç³Ô¹Ï may be found on page 34 of the current college catalog. Please visit the °Ç¸ç³Ô¹Ï website to see this list at .

You can make an important long-term difference at °Ç¸ç³Ô¹Ï, and in eternity, through planned giving! By including °Ç¸ç³Ô¹Ï in your estate planning, you can help prepare those whom God is calling into ministry . . . by reducing their need for student loans and the ultimate burden of debt. As this assistance is received by our students, it is often seen as an affirmation of God’s call.

You can include °Ç¸ç³Ô¹Ï in your will, create a charitable trust, establish a charitable gift annuity, assign a life insurance policy, or give property to the college. °Ç¸ç³Ô¹Ï partners with the Church of the Nazarene Foundation to assist in planning that benefits the donors, as well as the designated recipients. Please contact Mike Arrambide at JMArrambide@nbc.edu, or call him at (719) 884-5004 if you would like more information on how your gifts could be used, perpetually, to help students as they prepare for ministry at °Ç¸ç³Ô¹Ï.
